Do I have a choice in how to invest my pension fund?
Not necessarily. If your plan is a "defined benefit" plan, the investments are handled by plan officials. If your plan is a "defined contribution" plan, the provisions written in the plan document determine whether you have any control over your investments, and the extent of that control. An employer is not automatically required to let you control how your retirement money is invested.
