What is the impact of child labor laws?
Most children under the age of fourteen (14) may not be employed (with certain exceptions like newspaper delivery). For children under the age of sixteen (16), there are restrictions upon the hours that may be worked. Minors (children under the age of 18) may not be hired to perform hazardous work. There are both state and federal laws which regulate the employment of children.
